Just creating what I feel

If you are here, then my story is interesting for you. One day I took a step towards the changes and the desire to see a different future. I made the decision to leave the small town where I was living and move to Kyiv.

Not having completed one year at the advanced mathematics faculty of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and finally realizing that mathematical analysis is not my thing, I did what I could never expect from myself - became a hairdresser. It was a difficult path, in which I had to get out of my own, still unformed, comfort zone. In order to realize later on that my idea was to change the understanding of the profession, both within the profession itself and in the eyes of clients.

For me, hairdressing has never been about "an apron, a coffee with a cigarette and waiting for a client". It was always a creative process where you had to be hungry and crazy, realizing the breadth of possibilities that " craftsmen" don't pay attention to.

My enormous stock of patience was always helpful in this - because those who can't wait, experience failures and make proper conclusions from them, tolerate the periods of slowdown after a rapid growth - they will never become professionals, and won't be able to build a brand "for the ages". That's why for me there are no fixed rules like "the customer is always right", "we should do as they say", "why to invent something new?" - In my work I am guided only by my own sense of time and style, trying to give my clients what they really need, not what they want (because often their awareness is limited by their own fears, so they do not see the full range of possibilities).

And the best thanks here would be the word "Wow!", which emphasizes the accuracy of the decision and gives the understanding of the right movement. Although I am rarely satisfied with my work, it helps me to move forward, filling the hearts of the people around me with the energy of creativity and the love to what I do.

Not because I really believed in their teaching material, but because at that moment I could afford it. It was there where I met my first mentor - Natalya Nikolaevna. Despite the fact that I was one of the worst students on the course, and the instructor often "lost" me at the lecture stage, I felt the faith in myself and my strengths from my teacher. If it were not for that positive message from Natalya Nikolaevna, who opened in me the potential for growth and the desire to find something new in the profession, I would not have been able to be a professional.

      My path has always been connected with music, as it is the strongest source of inspiration for me and the brightest ideas came exclusively from the musical direction. Thanks to it I had a chance to work with such artists as Okean Elzy, Onuka, Ivan Dorn, Cepasa.

      Also, collaborating with the best music video directors had built my understanding of personal investments - in order to achieve results, you have to put in a lot of effort, and only then will the results come. That was my first experience working outside of the salon and hairdressing art, which allowed me to discover new people as well as gave me an opportunity to work on backstage and with a video product, where 12 hours of hard work turns into a 2-minute product of exceptional quality.

      By the year 2011 my partners and I had already formed a special approach and style, and we decided to create only what we feel at 100%. And out of this the Erteqoob brand was born - at first as salons to implement our ideas. But the desire not only to implement them, but also to share, educate and inspire young professionals opened the doors of the Alma Mater - Academy. Studying and working at Erteqoob is its own subculture of people who are in love with the profession and are in constant creative development.

      For a long time my team and I were looking for exactly that concept, which could further inspire and develop us. And we combined the architecture of the precise construction of the form with the work with the natural structure of the hair. That's how the natural precision direction emerged.

      The original idea started back in the mid-'00s, from the Extension Hair Party. It was the first format where the work of the masters turned into a show-master class. Subsequently, a number of competitive products appeared, but none of them were better than the original, and I had to put the idea aside for almost ten years, as I was deeply immersed in the creation of the Erteqoob brand. Once I decided on the brand, I went right back to the show format. And, while I was sitting in the cinema, the name "Cinema" was born, which debuted in Kharkiv one year later, and now takes place in an annual format with an audience of 500-1000 masters from different countries.

      The conceptual video had as its basis a task: to transmit the rhythm of the hair through the personality of the wearer.
